Nurse Tina’s idea of CPR was climbing right onto the patient and pushing with a force nobody would call normal. In one month over 22 patients under her care died, and Lucy started connecting the dots. Each one had a late-night visit from Tina, then cardiac arrest the next day. Lucy went to the head nurse, who didn’t buy it and flipped the suspicion back on her, accusing Lucy of trying to frame Tina. So Lucy dug in alone. She tracked sedative inventory at the pharmacy and shadowed Tina. After one of those visits she found leftover sedative vials and a patient who’d already stopped breathing. She nearly ran into Tina at the door but held back, she wanted hard proof. Then she saw Tina chatting with a cop, and the look Tina shot her said you can’t touch me. A former nurse told her the hospital had found unidentified drugs in victims’ blood long ago but ordered the deaths labeled natural causes to dodge liability. Tina was the poster nurse, so questions got buried and people who pushed got fired. Lucy bet on her conscience. She watched Tina enter a dying elderly patient’s room, checked the IV afterward, and spotted an unknown substance in the line. She ripped it out, replaced it with a clean one, and bagged a used syringe from the trash. Later she caught Tina red-handed, injecting something into another patient’s IV. Tina hid the syringe behind her back and said the patient was just unwell. Lucy played along, walked out, and called the police. Lucy bags the entire thing and hides it in a storage locker at the pharmacy. After that, Lucy continues making rounds through the other rooms collecting evidence until she finally catches Tina in the act. Tina sees she's been spotted, hides the syringe behind her back, and claims the patient was feeling unwell. Lucy plays it cool, acts like she didn't see a thing. The second she walks out the hospital doors she calls the police. Officers arrive and investigate. On the syringe Lucy swapped out earlier, they successfully pull Tina's fingerprints, combined with the excessive drug levels found in the patient. Police arrest her on the spot. Tina is charged with killing 160 patients, and sentenced to death. After the case wraps up, Lucy goes back to work like normal, because she reported the hospital's star nurse. Her co-workers freeze her out completely, but Lucy couldn't care less, she knows exactly what a nurse's job is, to protect life.
