Massachusetts just signed a law that strips out the old restrictions on abortion after 24 weeks, now docs can use their own judgment on whether care gets provided. Prioritizing patient access to care act into law. Under the previous law, abortions after 24 weeks were only allowed under certain circumstances, including serious risks to the patient or certain fetal diagnosis. The new law removes those restrictions, allowing physicians to use their professional judgment when determining whether care can be provided.
