WNBA calls to suspend DiJonai Carrington
The WNBA is getting hammered with demands to suspend DiJonai Carrington for the whole season after what looks like a straight-up assault on Sophie Cunningham, blows to the face and neck that went way beyond basketball. Joe Concha didn't hold back on Fox News, calling it intentional and meant to cause physical harm, not some throwback 90s Knicks-Pistons hard foul. He laid out the uncomfortable questions too: was Cunningham targeted because she's white, because she's straight, or because she spoke out against biological men playing against biological women in sports? His answer, probably all of the above. Concha and others are pushing for real consequences, not a weak slap on the wrist, saying an extended suspension is the only way to show the league actually gives a damn about player safety
