Ansem on crypto reputation and traders
Ansem says crypto's bad rep comes down to who gets the spotlight. The loudest names aren't the ones actually trading or making money onchain, and when scammers dominate the conversation, everyone pays for it. He thinks the real builders and grinders, guys like Rowdy, Kimchi, Threadguy, and Rasmr, should be the ones highlighted. They've put in the work, taught themselves, and actually profited, which is way more relatable to anyone trying to do the same. That kind of visibility, he argues, would make crypto cooler because it shows it's something people can genuinely pursue and succeed at. It's because like the people who get highlighted are the scammers in crypto. Like that's why crypto has such a bad reputation. It's because all the people who get the most attention and the most exposure are the people who aren't actually trading and making money and authentically doing these things on chain, the authentic builders in crypto. They're not the ones getting the most attention. And then when the people who are scammers get the most attention, then obviously crypto has a bad reputation. But if you highlight the traders like Rowdy, Kimshi, like Raz, Thread, Razmer, all these guys who are doing really well on chain and actually have made money trading and like grinded their way up as anybody else could grind their way up from teaching themselves and getting better. And they also care about doing content, then that's obviously something that's a lot more relatable to people who are looking to do the same thing. And that's what would make crypto a lot cooler than it currently is, because that's something that people can actually pursue and like do well in doing.
