A robber was wandering around town when he noticed something. All the rich businessmen in the city liked to carry these oversized leather bags, stuffed so full they looked ready to burst with cash. For a seasoned robber like him, this was a gift from the universe. To figure out how much one of those bags could hold, he walked into a leather goods shop and asked the owner. The owner said it depended on the denomination. If you packed it with the largest bills, it could fit up to 50,000 yuan. Seeing how broke the two of them looked, the shopkeeper sneered at them with obvious contempt. then, a man in a sharp suit walked in to get his bag repaired, saying the zipper was broken. This was Zhou Sheng, a well-known local tycoon who loved to flaunt his wealth. He smoked only the finest cigarettes, wore a gold ring, and carried a mobile phone. In 1990s China, the population was around 1.1 billion, but only a few hundred thousand people could actually afford a mobile phone. This man immediately caught the eye of the robber, Liu Yongkun. He marked Zhou Sheng as his first target. After Zhou Sheng left, the two quietly followed him. They discovered he wasn't just a rich businessman. He was the landlord of the entire street. After collecting rent for just a short while, his leather bag was already stuffed to the brim. Before long, Zhou Sheng turned into a narrow alley. Liu Yongkun knew this was their chance. After making sure no one was around, he signaled his partner to pull out a knife and creep up behind him. But just as they were about to strike, Zhou Sheng suddenly turned and walked away. The two rushed after him, only to spot two workers up ahead, apparently Zhou Sheng's employees. They had no choice but to back off. They followed Zhou Sheng to a garment factory. After all that running around, his partner had completely lost patience and wanted to just rush in and grab the bag by force. But then they noticed two men coming down the stairs, acting all sneaky. Could these be fellow robbers? Turns out they were just Zhou Sheng's buddies who liked to roughhouse every time they met. But the sight scared Liu Yongkun half to death. He hadn't expected Zhou Sheng to know how to fight. To make sure they win the two went to a shop and bought a hammer and some rope then continued tailing their target waiting for the perfect moment After more following they ended up at an antique market Zhou Sheng being a wealthy man clearly had expensive hobbies The two robbers were brimming with confidence already counting Zhou Sheng money as their own. But they hadn't accounted for the maze-like layout of the antique district. Before long, they'd lost him completely. His partner was furious. They'd wasted half the day. Not only had they failed to rob anyone, they'd spent nearly all the money they'd brought with them. His partner wanted to give up, but Liu Yongkun was stubborn. He was convinced that with so many rich people in this area, he'd find another target. The two checked into a small inn, planning to stay and scout for a new mark. When the innkeeper learned they were out-of-town visitors, he warmly invited them to sit down and called over a waitress to take their order. But since they were nearly broke, they only ordered two bowls of noodles. The waitress shot them a look of pure disdain. Little did she know that attitude would come back to haunt her. Soon after, three men showed up at the inn. They flashed 100 yuan bills and made strange hand signals to the owner. Turns out the owner ran a small gambling den on the third floor, with regulars showing up every night. Where there's gambling, there's cash. Liu Yongkun saw an opportunity. After dinner, the two strolled up to the third floor gambling room. The moment they opened the door, they spotted a familiar face. It was Zhou Sheng, the one who'd gotten away. Even better, Zhou Sheng was on a hot streak tonight. That leather bag of his was getting fatter by the minute. The two went back to their room to wait. Once the game broke up, Zhou Sheng would surely be alone. That would be the perfect time to strike. Just thinking about the fortune that awaited them, they couldn't help but laugh out loud. But their plan was doomed to fail. They waited all the way until morning, and the game still hadn't ended. Zhou Sheng had been winning so much that the losers refused to let him leave. And to make matters worse, the police suddenly showed up. Someone had reported illegal gambling. All the money on the table was confiscated. When Liu Yongkun heard this, his face went completely blank, like he'd just swallowed a dead fly. But as the police led everyone out, Zhou Sheng secretly slipped his leather bag to the restaurant owner, and Liu Yongkun happened to catch it. In his mind, that bag still had money in it. And it was because of that bag that a horrific murder was about to unfold. Thank you.
