Gabe Speier suspended 3 games

    by Yutaofficial: Gleyber Torres

MLB just handed down a 3-game suspension and an undisclosed fine to Mariners pitcher Gabe Speier for intentionally drilling Gleyber Torres in last night's game. Speier tried to hit him earlier in the at-bat too, throwing way inside before Torres got out of the way. Benches cleared after the plunking, and the whole thing seemed to stem from Cal Raleigh getting hit earlier.

Two out, base is empty. Look out. It's a plunking pandemic. Yai. I'm going to have a feeling, Jason, they did not like that Cal Raleigh got plunked earlier. Yeah, here comes A.J. Hinch to make sure that this doesn't go any further. And now everybody spills out. Labor Torres gets hit by a pitch, and everybody comes running on to home plate. Back-to-back series where everybody spills out onto the field. The bullpens are charging in. Because now you're putting it going on base for an all-star. Yep, they're going to throw him out. And Spire doesn't really protest. Get Dingler coming up. So here's the Raleigh hit-by-pitch. Trying to pitch him inside. And then the Torres hit-by-pitch. And this was the second attempt. The first attempt was way in. Glaber got out of the way. And Klaver had some words for Cal Raleigh.
