I'm very lucky at this point to have a team of frequent collaborators who know how to get really in the like deep lore nerd trenches with me and it's just so much fun but so many of the like really fine-tuned details that you see in this movie for instance in like the materials the supplemental kind of like merch taglines etc of the Count Miasma franchise like that is basically like doing a pop-up writers room with my core creative team and empowering like a lot of different people to help build it out. But I do a lot of sketching in my brain of the stuff that's maybe a little more off-camera in this way, like in the writing process and in the development process. And I think I've found that it's kind of essential if it's gonna feel authentic instead of like a bad impression. I think so often we're used to seeing 80s slasher pastiche that's like kind of surface level, like playing the hits. And if you wanna like make something that actually feels that someone would realistically love this thing, the thing is authentic enough that it reminds you why you might love those kinds of movies. You just have to do your homework and you have to build it out beyond, let me like write a quick 30 second clip of this thing.
