Ross Chastain wall ride Martinsville

    by Xxalexei: NASCAR

Ross Chastain pulled something out of a video game during the final lap at Martinsville in 2022 and it actually worked. He was 10th and needed two spots to stay in the championship hunt, so he floored it into the wall and rode the concrete around the turn, went from 10th to 5th in one corner. NASCAR banned the move right after. Chastain said he got the idea from NASCAR 2005 on the GameCube. I just picked a spot on the wall, aimed right for it, and never questioned it

This move was so insane, NASCAR had to ban it forever. Back in 2022 at Martinsville, Ross Chastain, the melon farmer turned NASCAR driver, was in the middle of a championship moment. One lap to go! He was about to lose his only shot at the title. Sitting in 10th place, Ross needed to gain two positions to qualify. But in the final corners, he made the wildest decision of the entire race. And I just picked a spot on the wall, aimed right for it, and never questioned it. Yeah, I gotta get a beat too. What in the hell? Oh my God. I can't believe what I just saw. I was the one who gets the Mellon Master. He went from 10th to 5th place. You made the transfer. You made the transfer, man. I guess it does work. After the race, Ross revealed the stunt came from NASCAR 2005 on the GameCube.
