Tom Homan border czar immigration
Tom Homan is pushing back on claims that the Trump administration and DHS have backed off mass deportations, calling those social media posts "just a bunch of CRAP." He says he still needs to hire 1,000,2,000 more ICE agents and that they'll be coming soon. Homan also mentioned reading many social media posts suggesting they're not living up to expectations, but he dismissed them.

President Trump is sitting in the Oval Office today because of his promise to secure the border. He had the most secure border in history of this nation now. And because he promised mass deportation, which we're doing. Matter of fact, you know, I read a lot of social media posts that we're not living up to it. Just a bunch of crap, right? Were numbers down a few months ago? Yes. Why? Because of government shutdown. Why was the government shutdown? Because of the chaos in Minnesota that we fixed, right? So once we got turned down with the money, once the reconciliation, I THINK THE BASICALLY MADE THEIR LIVES. I THINK THE FEDERAL BASICALLY MADE THE MAIN CONSIDERATION BILL PASSED. WE'RE HITTING IN ALL CYLINDERS. IN JUNE LAST MONTH, ICE ARRESTED MORE ILLEGAL ALIENS THAN ANY TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE AGENCY. AND IN JULY, WE'RE ON TRACK TO BEAT THAT. SO WE'RE HITTING IN ALL CYLINDERS. YEAH, THE NUMBERS ARE DOWN FOR A WHILE. THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN BUT NOW WE'RE HITTING IN ALL CYLINDERS. WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF THOUSAND MORE AGENTS TO HIRE.
