    This Puffin-inspired robot can fly like a bird and swim underwater. Developed by engineers at MIT and EPFL, this flapping-wing aerial aquatic vehicle seamlessly transforms between air and water. It can lift itself out of the water without any additional propulsion system. Despite its larger wings, it does not require extra power underwater. It can be launched from a boat or shore to fly close to an iceberg, a pod of whales, or even collect water samples from hazardous areas.
