Smotrich contradicts himself on a Jewish theocracy in Israel. He says: "There will never be a Jewish theocracy in Israel. This idea of a Jewish theocracy is a fictional demon, it doesn't exist." But in a 2019 interview, he stated: "For sure, my will is that in the long term, the State of Israel be governed by Jewish law."
