Josie and the Pussycats 2001 misunderstood

    For years, 'Josie and the Pussycats' (2001) was dismissed as little more than a vehicle for shameless product placement. Audiences saw the barrage of logos and brand names as pure advertising, missing the film's actual intent: it was deliberately exaggerating consumer culture to absurd, satirical extremes. Time, however, has proven the joke was on the skeptics, the movie's critique of commercialism was ahead of its time.
