At a party, the girl suddenly lost control. She started violently hitting herself while her boyfriend sat motionless on the couch, as if trapped in a terrifying memory. Belle worked at a record store. Nikki, his co-worker, was the girl he secretly loved. She was an ambitious young writer, and Belle had carried this unspoken love for years, but he never had the courage to confess. Ian, another co-worker, tried to teach him how to win her over. But Belle's real problem was not technique. It was fear of rejection. He could never bring himself to take the final step. Until one day, he discovered a strange product in the record store. The wishing willow. A wooden box containing a simple willow branch. The clerk told him, make a wish and snap the branch. And your wish will come true. Even stranger. Some customers had returned to complain. Not because it didn't work. But because it worked too well. One night after a bar gathering, Belle offered to drive Nikki home. On the way, Nikki suddenly asked about his relationship with a co-worker named Sarah. Belle awkwardly said they were just friends. At her doorstep, he tried countless times to confess his feelings, but the words never came out. Just as he was about to leave, he saw the wishing willow again. The silence around him felt suffocating. Belle gave a bitter smile and turned to leave, but then he noticed Nikki hadn't gone inside. Instead, she turned around and walked back toward him. Hey, uh, I just kind of pulled directions. Did you have something for me? Yeah. I, I left it at home. Okay. Um, I can bring it to work tomorrow. Oh, okay.
