American flag relay from CA to DC
A group of patriots is receiving widespread praise for running the American flag from California to Washington, D.C. The 3,016-mile journey is expected to finish on July 4th around 10 AM. The relay has passed through 15 states and involved 250 different runners.

American flag is on its way to our nation's capital for the 4th of July. Runners currently carrying the flag all the way from California, where this race started last month. The founders of the group Relay for America joined us just days after their more than 3,000 mile trek began, explaining the reason for the journey. Watch. People like to talk about all the things that are wrong with America, and really the spirit of this relay is showing all the things that are right with America. At about a nine minute average pace through the day, through the night, the flag will never stop moving until it gets to Washington, D.C. And really, again, the whole message is just about bringing Americans together. Once the flag arrives at 10 a.m. Eastern tomorrow, it will have passed through 15 states and have been held by 250 different runners. Congrats to all who did that. Amazing stuff. Very good.
