The city of London has fake houses. This is the Leinster Garden Street in London and it's lined with these beautiful houses in a row. But I want you to take a closer look at the houses number 23 and 24. The windows here look weird. There are no doorbells. Even when you look at this, what's supposed to be a door, it's actually solid wall. These are actually fake facades. To understand why they are there, you will have to travel all the way back to the other side. And here you will suddenly see railway tracks. The facades that you saw are right there. You see, the underground trains of London in the 1880s were steam trains. That means when they ran, they needed pockets of open spaces to let the steam out. So this was one of those spaces where trains could just let out steam. So this was specifically created so that the elevation and the facade of this entire street maintains a certain aesthetic. And today, most people walking down the street wouldn't even know that something is off. So when people put up fake facades, it's interesting to see what's actually behind it. And this is not just about architecture. Anyway, follow Blasdar for more such videos.
