Ukraine's strikes on Russian infrastructure are having a spillover effect on Kazakhstan. A Ukrainian attack on Russia's Orenburg gas processing plant has forced the Karachaganak oil and gas field in Kazakhstan to cut production by about 25%, from 34,000 to 25,000 metric tons per day.

Ukraine has reportedly launched air attacks on energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea that have left half the peninsula without power. Kyiv has also reportedly struck a gas processing plant in Russia's Orenberg region overnight into Wednesday morning. The defense of Ukraine site posted unverified images on social media, saying strikes have been carried out on oil storage facilities at the Kerch thermal power plant, the West Crimea electrical substation and the Simferopol gas distribution station. The Kyiv Independent reports the Russian installed local authorities saying the outages had left around half the peninsula without power, including in Sevastopol. In south-central Russia, the Exynova Plus site posted unverified video on social media, apparently showing the Orenberg gas processing plant being hit by Ukrainian drones. At least 15 regions across Russia introduced restrictions on fuel sales Wednesday amid deepening shortages caused by recent Ukrainian attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure.
