Disney's 'Tarzan' (1999) never shows Clayton's death on screen, but the visual metaphor is unmistakable. After the entire film is driven by greed and fury, he essentially fashions the rope that ultimately kills him. It remains one of the studio's most haunting narrative payoffs.
