The Dark Knight final shot Nolan accident

    by Francesco Eunchae: Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan revealed that the closing shot of 'The Dark Knight' was essentially a happy accident. He said, "I didn’t know how to end the film visually. A stuntman went up a ramp, a movie light shone down & we cut to black from the light. It was unusual, but it felt right." The director explained that he had no planned visual conclusion, and the final image emerged from an improvised moment on set.
