On this day in 1995, Michael Jackson took the stage at the VH1 Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. He performed "We Are The World" alongside Boyz II Men and was presented with an award by Morgan Freeman in recognition of his humanitarian and charitable work. That award was later renamed.
