Mert on FOMO podcast predicts perps next cycle

He argued that every market cycle so far has been driven by a specific speculative narrative: first Bitcoin, then ICOs, followed by DeFi Summer, and later NFTs and memecoins. well you can you can argue that basically all cycles to date have been driven by this speculative new game at any given time right so first was bitcoin then it was icos then it was d5 summer then it was nfts then it was meme coins and then so then maybe you look at okay what's next and you know i would argue probably what's next is perps right and what's current as well right just being able to speculate on the price movement of different world assets now right and so if you look at human history and this is also another reason why i think it would be super dumb to be overly pessimistic on crypto humans will just always do this there is no getting around human psychology incentives they will always want to speculate and play these games and I can't predict what that next game will be but I think trading is one of the most fundamental and oldest games in the history of civilization it has existed since we before we had writing or like it literally evolved alongside the same time and so it will exist I can't predict what the next one will be. But as long as people have as long as markets exist, as long as people allocate resources that are scarce, and maybe that resource is attention, right?
