The European legless lizard, scientifically known as Pseudopus apodus, possesses an exceptionally long tail that can break off in segments when threatened. Unlike many other lizard species, its regenerated tail is weaker and irregular in shape, which is why it's commonly called the "glass lizard." 📹 amazinganimalambassadors

At first glance, this guy may look like a snake, but he's actually a lizard. This is Larry, and he has a European legless lizard, also called a glass lizard or sheltopusic. His skeleton and muscular structure are very different from a snake, but he also has eyelids and ears while snakes don't. Fun fact, you know that pit of snakes in Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, most of the reptiles in those shots in the movie are actually European legless lizards. So really, Harrison Ford should have said, Shelto Pusix? Why did it have to be Shelto Pusix?
