Harry Potter should have been sorted into Slytherin. The Sorting Hat recognized that potential in him. His desperate plea of "not Slytherin" wasn't just fear,it was him rejecting a part of himself. If he had been placed in Slytherin, the events of Sorcerer's Stone would have been darker and more compelling.
