Determined to keep developers from taking over her ranch, Cole pretended to pass out inside the holding cell in an effort to draw the officers closer because she understood something the others did not. The police department had already been infiltrated by corrupt forces and she knew it was only a matter of time before someone tried to silence her. So when an officer rushed in to help Cole seize the opportunity and took his gun, she then warned the officer to deliver a message to his superiors. No matter what happened, she would protect her ranch at all costs. After delivering the warning, Cole tossed the weapon aside and calmly stepped out of the holding cell. The other officers had no idea what was coming. Without hesitation, Cole struck first and quickly subdued an officer. She disarmed him, tossed away his weapon, and slowly made her way toward the exit. Just then, a female officer tried to catch her off guard with a stun baton, but Cole's years of experience allowed her to counter the attack with ease. Moments later, she took the keys to a patrol car and walked out of the station. She jumped into the police vehicle and raced back toward her ranch. By the time the sheriff arrived at the property, Cole was already there waiting, and she had no intention of cooperating. She was determined to stay and defend her land. Even with the sheriff pointing a gun at her, Cole remained completely calm. In one swift move, she disarmed him and knocked him to the ground. All she had ever wanted was a fair and just outcome before leaving. She warned them never to return. When Clay learned that the plan had failed, He was furious and immediately sent in armed men prepared to take the property by force. But once again, they had badly underestimated Cole.
