MrBeast opened up about the teenage mindset that propelled him to become the biggest YouTuber. He said, 'I always had this idea that if I could ever get people to watch my videos, I would take all the ad revenue and use it to make future videos.' He recalled thinking as a young teen, 'why don’t big YouTubers use the money to make better videos instead of buying a Lamborghini or a mansion?' He noted that ten years ago, creators wouldn’t reinvest all their money back into their content, calling that 'a pretty revolutionary idea at the time.

I always had this idea that if I could ever actually somehow manage to get people to watch the videos, I would take all the ad revenue the videos made, and I would use it to make future videos, right? Which is how we have videos like we have today on the channel, where I'm just giving away, you know, tons of money, and we're helping tons of people or we're building big sets and stuff. But that was always like my thing when I was a really young person, like when I was a young teen, I was like, why don't big YouTubers instead of buying like a Lamborghini, or like buying a a mansion, like why don't they use the money to make better videos, right? Which now a lot of creators do, but like 10 years ago, that was not a common thing. Like creators wouldn't reinvest all their money back into the content. And that was like a pretty revolutionary idea at the time. And so when I made this video, I was like, yo, if you guys just watch this video, I'll just use the money to make bigger videos. And it was kind of funny. So good times, that was back in 2013.
