It is now official that Trump-endorsed Steve Hilton has advanced in the California governor election. The mail-in ballots proved insufficient to keep him out of the race. This is a positive development, but California needs to prohibit these extreme mail-in procedures. Otherwise the situation will grow even more problematic by the time the midterms arrive.
