Polymarket 5-minute Bitcoin trader

I came across an anonymous trader on Polymarket who has turned the 5-minute Bitcoin markets into something like an ATM machine. The account was created only yesterday. Already the trader has completed 39 trades with almost no losses and peaked at a positive $1,700 PnL in a single day. He is currently up only $334 after giving back most of that peak. More on why that matters below. Profile: Here is the part that counts. He does not predict Bitcoin. He trades the delay between BTC moving and Polymarket repricing. Here is the mechanic. 1. He is not betting on direction. He is betting on lag. When BTC makes a sharp move the price is instant. But Polymarket odds take seconds to catch up because the humans and bots updating those odds are not infinitely fast. That gap between BTC already moved and the market reflects it is the entire trade. 2. The typical trade looks like this. BTC spikes or drops hard. He enters at 45 to 55 cents before the market reprices. One minute later the odds catch up and the position is worth 80 to 95 cents. Cash out. Repeat. No forecasting. No is BTC going up or down. Just exploiting the seconds it takes for odds to reflect reality. 3. Why this works on 5-minute markets specifically. Short-duration markets reprice fastest and most violently. A 1 percent BTC move in a 5-minute window swings the odds far more than the same move in a daily market. More volatility per second equals bigger gaps between price and odds equals more lag to exploit. 4. Why he gave back $1,400 of his peak. This is the catch with latency strategies. The edge is real but thin and fragile. The moment he sizes up too aggressively or the market gets faster at repricing or a trade goes against him before he can exit the gains evaporate. Going from positive $1,700 to positive $334 in the same session shows exactly how volatile this style is. The edge is speed not insight. And speed edges decay the second someone faster shows up. The lesson is not trade 5-minute BTC markets. It is that on Polymarket the most reliable edge is not predicting the event. It is being faster than the market at pricing what already happened. But speed-based edges are double-sided. They print fast and they bleed fast. Positive $1,700 to positive $334 in one session is the whole story. Easy money until it is not. While everyone fights over what BTC will do next he is trading what it already did. The question is whether he can keep doing it before the market closes the gap.
