Akon on discovering young Wizkid
Akon described first meeting Wizkid when the artist was roughly fourteen or fifteen years old. Even at that point his skills stood out as exceptional. The chosen stage name made complete sense to Akon because it captured how naturally gifted the teenager seemed. While still so young Wizkid had already begun creating songs for major names in music, among them Banky W. From those initial encounters it was clear a major career lay ahead.
