Steve Hilton's tax cut plan got turned down by California voters, and the Governor Race is projected to go to Xavier Becerra. Read that as a mandate for the other stuff: steeper fees at the DMV, pricier fuel, a mileage tax, and protections for undocumented people. Cheaper living apparently wasn't the pitch that won.
