Annie Andrews elected South Carolina senator

South Carolina just sent its first female U.S. senator to Washington, and it's Democrat Annie Andrews after she beat Republican Darline Graham. That seat had been held by Lindsey Graham for 23 years before his death in July 2026, making this the first time a Democrat has won the Senate race there since 1998. Darline Graham is the sister of the late Lindsey Graham, but the victory still marks a historic shift for the state. #AnnieLAndrews
