Distributed by Fathom, it grossed STRONG 1.2M on 2nd MON, just a -13.7% drop from first MON, after having +344 theatres added last FRI, now playing over 2.900 (vs TheBoxTrolls’s 539k, -26.5%, MissingLink’s 648k, +12.3%, KuboAndTheTwoStrings’ 660k, -38.7%, ParaNorman’s 898k, -38.3%, Coraline’s 4.1M*, +277.3%). *PresidentsDay holiday It hits a 28.6M cume in the U.S. The hope is that strong WOM & awards season keep the original animation alive both in the U.S. & overseas to, along with revenue generated from international distribution rights’ sales. recoup at least part of its pricey 100M production price tag not including marketing.
