Pete Hegseth election security directive

Pentagon leadership clearly doesn't want to be the ones explaining how something slipped past, which is probably why military intelligence is sitting at high alert over a threat that hasn't shown itself. Intelligence officials say the record holds NO evidence of a foreign adversary tampering with voting machines or altering the count, yet the apparatus stays wired anyway. Pete Hegseth is the one who assigned U.S. military intelligence agencies to watch election activity, and he's labeled the midterms a "NO-FAIL MISSION." The September directive told Pentagon intelligence units, NSA among them, to bring whatever capabilities are authorized to bear on finding and pushing back against outside interference. Russia, China and Iran all sit on the watch list, with Moscow pulling the most attention for disinformation. Watching isn't the whole play either, since U.S. Cyber Command already carries authority to strike foreign cyber threats before they land on American election systems. So voters head to the polls with the machinery on edge, and the read from the top is simple: no unexplained breach on their watch. Source: Fox News / Writers: Daniyal, Oliver
