Andrej Karpathy actually built a YouTube alternative named HackerTube in just two hours over a weekend using Claude. You can access it at hackertube.org without needing to log in or deal with an engagement algorithm. The system analyzed 43 million comments from Hacker News and incorporated twenty years of recommendation data to curate the platform. It features 6,454 videos selected by the community, all developed with Claude Opus 5.5. The result is genuinely incredible.
