Cousins (Primos) Thiago Cazado and Paulo Sousa

That thing where a shy, deeply religious guy's whole world gets rearranged by one free-spirited arrival. Cousins (Primos) came out in 2019, and it's the Brazilian LGBTQ+ romantic comedy-drama where Thiago Cazado plays Mário, all confidence, humor and spontaneity, while Paulo Sousa's Lucas carries the innocence, the vulnerability, and a surprising amount of emotional depth. The contrast is what makes their performances land, and the two of them build a connection that's sweet and playful enough to sell a forbidden romance. Underneath it the film is working through desire, the weight of religious expectations, finding yourself, and what it takes to actually choose love. Put together, Cazado and Sousa turned it into a Brazilian queer love story people remember 🍿
