Who would have thought that OliviaColman would humiliate HenryCavil & SydneySweeney, giving small distributor BlackBear their first hit at US BoxOffice? The sassy festival darling comedy Wicker had +903 theatres added by exhibitors, scored 1.4M on BIGGEST 2nd FRI in BlackBear’s history, just a -39.6% drop from last FRI Opening Day, now playing over 2.374 theatres. It hits a 10.6M cume in the U.S. This weekend, it will beat JasonStatham’s actioner Shelter 12.8M run as the highest grossing release of BlackBear domestically. Better yet, BlackBear only paid 2.5M for the sex comedy’s US distribution rights, meaning they are mostly in the black with this release. Eyeing a 3.5M-4.5M 2nd 3-day weekend & a 39%-21% drop.
