Allison Jeanne Albro arrested for Trump rally threat

Sheriff Mike Chitwood's message after Allison Jeanne Albro's arrest was blunt: threats against the president won't be tolerated, and neither will the excuse that it was a joke. The 21-year-old from Daytona Beach was taken into custody on Thursday by Volusia County deputies working with the Secret Service, after her Instagram post about shooting President Trump at his Friday night rally got flagged by the FBI and the Secret Service. The post read, "Going to the trump rally in my city tmr so I can shoot him with my glock! wish me luck guys!!" Albro told investigators it was "just a joke," said she had no access to a Glock, and insisted she would never hurt anyone. She still faces charges of written threats to kill or cause bodily injury, along with a count for committing a felony through a communications device. Chitwood shared her mugshot and added a warning for anyone else thinking of posting something similar: "Free speech does not mean speech without consequences."
