    Ignazio Cassis Pyongyang visit

🇨🇭🇰🇵 A Swiss minister is visiting North Korea for the first time since 2003. Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis is in Pyongyang to officially reopen Switzerland’s office there, which closed for Covid in 2020 and got back to work on October 19. While he’s there, he’ll meet North Korea’s foreign minister, though there’s no word yet on a meeting with Kim Jong Un. It’s not a new friendship either, since Switzerland has stayed involved in Korea for decades and 5 Swiss officers still help watch the 1953 ceasefire on the border with South Korea. Between the border watch and Kim’s reported Swiss school days, these two go way back. Source: Swiss Info / Writer: Daniyal
