The pattern is the point: shout down a TPUSA open debate, get arrested for disorderly conduct, then announce the arrest itself as proof the state is fascist. At an Oregon campus stop, the ones calling themselves anti-fascists aimed "HitIer Youth!" at Alex Stein before the thing had even begun, and the cuffs came out before any microphone got warm. What's really being dodged isn't a comedian's material or a set of talking points. It's the unfiltered back-and-forth where students might actually hear the other side. That conversation is the threat. The Nazi talk is just the permission slip for killing it. Definitions do a lot of work here. Flip them hard enough and you never have to picture yourself as the authoritarian in the room, because your side simply holds the moral high ground by default. So any limit on the disruption reads as fascism. Any conservative outfit gets filed as HitIer Youth by category rather than by evidence. The cops keeping basic order are brownshirts. Same people yelling "no platform for fascists" will physically block a discussion, and when the arrest follows, that becomes the proof of a fascist state. Classic projection: the intimidation and the deplatforming get pinned on whoever bothered to show up and talk. Years of campus instruction in "speech is violence" and "punch up by any means" land you exactly here. The irony stays invisible, since seeing it would mean conceding that a comedian's table somehow equals HitIer Youth, which is unhinged on its face, and that burying speech while branding the other side the censors is the reverse of anti-fascism. Disruption, disorderly conduct arrests, then claims that the speakers or police are the real authoritarians: same script at other TPUSA stops. The surest sign someone believes they're battling fascism is how fast they treat disagreement as a thing to be shouted down or removed. Strange world we live in.
