Callum Newman on AEW NJPW Japan

The frustration Callum Newman is venting centers on how certain AEW wrestlers approach working in Japan. He explains that these athletes seem to treat NJPW as a quick shortcut just because they have AEW listed on their resume, but New Japan Wrestling isn't an easy promotion to crack into. For all the people who put in the daily squats and hard work at that dojo every single day to earn their place, it rubs him the wrong way when an AEW wrestler manages to hop, skip, and jump straight into a main event spot without doing the grind. Most of those guys only show up to do one single show. They never commit to running a full tour and clearly don't understand how difficult touring actually is. The pattern he describes involves flying in just the day before the match, performing once, and then immediately flying back home. That's literally the extent of their involvement. He doesn't believe these individuals truly get the schedule or the reality of what it takes to succeed there.
