Emily Osment Young Sheldon cracked rib

The physical toll of playing Mandy McAllister on YOUNG SHELDON went way beyond just acting. Emily Osment had to wear a 12.5-pound silicone prosthetic pregnant belly, and the sheer weight completely altered her walking gait to simulate realism. That constant burden eventually led to severe side pain that required a trip to the hospital. Medical staff were initially baffled until she explained she was portraying pregnancy with heavy equipment for work. The nurses asked if anything changed in her life recently, and Osment noted she was pretending to be pregnant for her job while wearing something really heavy. Once they connected the dots, they identified the cause immediately. She mentioned there's not really much you can do for a rib, so she managed the injury by sitting between takes since treatment options were limited. What started as a single guest appearance expanded into a recurring part, but the behind-the-scenes challenges included significant physical pain from the prolonged wear. #EmilyOsment
