Vozinha Yashin Trophy nomination at 40

Here's the thing about Vozinha: at the start of 2026, the wider public had basically no clue who he was. He was just a goalkeeper doing his job for a Segunda División side, far from any spotlight. Fast forward, and he's 40, Cape Verde have made history by qualifying for the World Cup with him between the posts, and a Yashin Trophy nomination has landed on his name. That's not a career arc, that's a full script. From anonymity to rubbing shoulders with the best in the game. Congrats on the lifelong dream, because it really is never too late to fulfil one.
