Heath Ledger 2007 Oscars refusal

The reason Heath Ledger turned down presenting at the 2007 Oscars is what I keep thinking about. The script included a joke about the romance between his and Jake Gyllenhaal's characters in Brokeback Mountain (2005), and that was the sticking point. "It's not a joke to me. I don't want to make any jokes about it," he said. Then he added, plain as anything: "No. This is about love." #HeathLedger
