Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench at Manchester United

Michael Carrick sent Bruno Fernandes to warm up against Bournemouth at Old Trafford, then left him on the bench for the whole 3-0 defeat. No minutes at all. That hadn't happened to Bruno in a Premier League game since the 2024/25 season, and it followed him publicly questioning Carrick's tactical approach after the Champions League match against Como. Carrick's explanation afterward was about the changes he tried to make to alter how the match was going. What's left is a captain being singled out while United can't find a way back to form, and the whole thing echoes Cristiano Ronaldo's final days at Old Trafford a little too clearly. Ronaldo went first. Bruno could be next. Is United repeating the same story with its captain?
