Emiliano Zurita in Dance of the 41

The tenderness is what gets me first, then the heartbreak underneath it. In Dance of the 41, Emiliano Zurita plays Evaristo Rivas, the secret lover of Ignacio de la Torre, who's played by Alfonso Herrera, and the pull between them is undeniable. What the performance does is carry the passion and the ache of wanting someone a society won't accept, and it lands. Zurita is outstanding here, emotionally powerful and genuinely memorable 🍿 Off screen he's a Mexico-born actor raised in a family of actors: father Humberto Zurita, late mother Christian Bach, brother Sebastián Zurita, also an actor. The film itself stands as one of the strongest queer historical dramas to come out of Mexican cinema #AlfonsoHerrera
