Black cat stealing gardening gloves

A sign went up asking neighbors to come collect their missing gardening gloves. That's the kind of notice you only write when a black cat in the area has been quietly running a one-glove-at-a-time operation, lifting gloves from around the neighborhood and hauling them home as its own stockpile. Cats do sometimes carry things off thanks to hunting instincts, curiosity, or just playful behavior, so the habit itself tracks. The scale is what gets you. Most cats settle for mice or toys; this one went straight for the gardening gloves, and the owner reportedly ended up posting that sign so people could reclaim what was theirs. So if your own cat started dragging home other people's stuff, what's the move?
