The Iwo Jima monument in Quantico suffered damage estimated at hundreds of thousands of dollars after a sledgehammer attack detached the head from a Marine figure. The suspect, identified as Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, is a 27-year-old resident of Virginia who was subsequently arrested for the incident.
