Gen Z protests Germany October 31

Attention shifts to Germany as a Gen Z movement prepares for demonstrations across 21 cities on October 31, with major gatherings planned in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, and Cologne. Participants are driven by grievances including soaring living costs, failing schools, mandatory military conscription, and the feeling that their futures have become unaffordable. Thousands are expected to attend these events, yet German police warn that extremists might attempt to hijack the protests following recent riots in France. Organizers explicitly state they reject violence entirely. However, serious unrest has already occurred in neighboring countries like France, Italy, and Spain, raising concerns about potential escalation. The situation draws significant attention due to similar patterns of social upheaval observed across Europe. Source: DW / Writer: Oliver
