Conan O'Brien talk show guest banter

The best part of a talk show is when the host loses the script and just has to ride it out. Conan O'Brien opened by claiming that the guest walking in had erased every question he'd prepared, and she fired back that he hadn't asked a single thing yet. His response was to call it a rough beginning for someone who hosts for a living, which got the audience laughing and clapping. She suggested he chill because it was only an interview. From there he told her she looked like she'd come to plug a movie and wound up kicking off a fashion revolution instead, and when she said he was laying it on thick, he pointed out that stretching the truth is basically the comedian job description. She turned it around and asked whether he's always this jumpy with guests. He said no, totally in control, then fixed his jacket to look the part. She counted three adjustments out loud. His out was that the jacket was the jumpy one, and he flatly declined to own anything that went down on that stage. Then he asked how she pulls every eye in a room the second she arrives. Her answer was that she concentrates on being herself rather than stressing over other people's opinions, and he called it a solid answer, confident without overreaching. She gave him a pass, told him he was doing fine. Cue the producer note that they'd gone ten minutes over, which Conan pinned on her: distracted the host, kept the audience happy, wrecked the schedule. She took that as a job well done. His closing intro had her as beautiful, confident, and a threat to the whole television production industry.
