Cardi B on her musical influences

Madonna DVDs from her mom's shelf were Cardi B's first lesson in what pop stardom could look like, she told The New York Times. The boldness came from elsewhere: Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown and Trina, whose take on image, sexuality and women in hip-hop left a mark on how she carries herself. And before any of that, there was a high school talent show where she got up and did Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. All of it adds up to the artist she became.
