Ilja Dragunov on John Cena standard

Ilja Dragunov told Ariel Helwani he feels the same way as many others about Gunther's WWE booking. The concern is that whoever retires John Cena sets a standard that demands a specific level be kept up. Dragunov views Cena as one of the best and expects him to remain one of the greatest of all time. He described Cena as a dear friend from back around 2014 or 15, knowing firsthand how good he is and that whatever comes next will be awesome. Yet after the bar Cena set and the way he was portrayed, the current work might not necessarily hit that established level.
