Jamie flags this as a very, VERY long war ahead. China is resupplying Iran at a speed that outpaces how fast the U.S. and Israel can replenish their own stockpiles. That flow of material, combined with technology and support from Russia, signals an Iranian intent to make the conflict difficult rather than easy. The capabilities on the ground are also much greater than prior intelligence estimates suggested. It is not as if they have been preparing for war over a 40-year period or anything.
